Club News

New signing imminent
Their is a strong possibility that we will be adding to the senior men squad over the next week. We have 2 players from the Academy who are making a strong case for thier inclusion in the side and a further 2 players on trial this week.
JB "It's great to see that the hard work we've done at junior level and with the College of West Anglia is now starting to pay dividends. We've got a young ambitious Head Coach in place who also came through the Fury system, a strong Nucleus of players at senior level all under 22 who'v been with the club since as young as 14 and with another strong goup of freshman at the college this year. The future seems bright...."

Fury suffer narrow loss in Norfolk cup V Division 1 opposition
It was always likely to be a tough ask but the squad was optimistic heading into their home clash with last years division 1 champions Notre Dame. Fury struggled to find their rythm early and a more experienced Notre Dame squad moved into a double figure lead. Several Fury players where rather over enthuasiastic on defence and committed silly fouls which led to easy free throws. At the Half Coach Smith rallied his troups and with nothing to lose the young squad started to use excellent zone defence and improved ball movement to make inroads into the lead. The young side grew in confidence and great outside shooting form Daryl Watson allowed the Fury to take a 4 point lead. It wasn't to be though as the Notre dame squad held their nerve slightly better down the stretch to take a 4 point win.
Dan Smith "I'm very proud of the squad today and we have several great things to take forward to next week. We can take great confidence from the fact that we can play like this against division 1 opposition."

Kings Lynn
Norfolk

"I played in King's Lynn during the 2006-2007 season, and to this day I can say that it was probably one of my most enjoyable seasons as a professional. It was my first season overseas, and although we were a young team and lost a lot in a very competitive league, everyone treated me like family and we all grew together throughout the course of the year. The team brought a great sense of community to the town, and I'd often find myself getting stopped and congratulated for doing such a good job by multiple people in the town. James Bamfield also approached things in a very professional manner, forcing all of us players to give our full committment to making the club better. And that committment expanded off the court, too, as a number of the players helped coach the youth players in the town, which further added to the family feel of the whole club in general. I have nothing but positive memories about my experience with the Fury, and I'm happy that James has continued to push the club in the right direction."
